Manufactured in 1917 and shipped to Springfield Armory on 2 August 1917, well before the end of World War I. The left of the slide is marked with the two-line, two-block patent dates and address with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, while the right has the standard "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY" marking. The left of the frame has the U.S. property marking and "GHS" inspection mark and the serial number is on the right. The full blued barrel is marked "P/H" on the chamber hood and "D" on the bottom in front of the lug. Fitted with blade and notch sights, wide checkered hammer, long smooth trigger, short grip safety, diamond pattern checkered grips, and a "R" marked two-tone magazine. Includes a U.S. leather holster, canvas web belt, Russell canvas web dual magazine pouch, lanyard, and two extra magazines.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, retains 85% plus of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on handling areas. The grips are excellent with a few scattered light blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster, belt, and magazine pouch are all very fine with some light wear.
