Single steel bead sight on the smooth solid rib which is marked "WATSON BROs GUNMAKERS. PAL MAL. LONDON" along with a gold "1", light engraving at the breeches, 2 1/2 inch chambers with ejectors, and improved cylinder/full chokes. The casehardened boxlock action displays full coverage floral scroll engraving and a gold "1" on the toplever and features double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold "SAFE". Attractively figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings with a gold "1" on the release and straight grip stock with teardrop flats, "H" in the inscription oval, and a red rubber recoil pad. Includes a leather bound Watson Bros. takedown case that houses both guns. Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 15/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 7 oz.
Very fine, retaining 95% original blue finish, traces of original case colors on the action, a few areas showing very minor spotting, light handling evidence, and overall crisp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is fair with broken straps and moderate wear. The bottom plate screw is stripped and will not thread in; otherwise, the gun appears mechanically sound.
As "A" with "2"s in place of the "1"s and "HH" in the inscription oval. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 5/8 inch drop at heel; 14 7/8 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 4 oz.
Very fine, retaining 90% original blue with the loss concentrated on the triggerguard, traces of case colors on the action, light handling evidence, a few small marks in the wood, and sharp wood checkering. Mechanically excellent.
