This is an incredibly crafted example of a Caucasian style qama dagger, also commonly referred to as "Cossack" daggers, due to the famous Caucasian horsemen regularly carrying them. It measures 20 3/8 inches overall and a 15 1/4 inch spearpoint blade with double fullers centered on each side of the blade. The hilt is fitted with horn grip panels, the outside panel being almost completely covered by a masterfully engraved, silver inlaid, and gilt embellished panel showing floral motifs and vine patterns. Matching finishes and floral motifs continue on the outer surface of the included scabbard with the backside partially skeletonized showing a panel of leather beneath. Very fine overall, the blade mostly bright with a few scattered patches of light surface pitting, retaining most of the silver and gilt finishes, the silver showing an attractively aged patina, and some generally light wear.
