This 18th century holster pistol is similar to others by gunmakers from Austria and Bohemia and has a smoothbore barrel with a rounded blade front sight, floral engraving at the breech and the brass lock plate, non-bridled faceted pan, internal bridle, floral designs along with busts and masks on the brass furniture, a pieced side plate, raised fleur-de-lis style carving at the upper tang and bottom of the forend, a horn forend tip and wood ramrod. Provenance: The Collection of Joe M. Wanenmacher Jr
Very good with aged patina on the brass, some abrasive marks visible on the engraving, a repaired replacement cock, and general mild overall wear. The stock is good and has some cracks and minor repairs, crisp carving, a replacement horn tip, and minor gaps. Mechanically fine.
