Manufactured in 1919, with Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The barrel has the standard two-line address/patent date marking and the caliber marking at the breech, as well as an importer mark on the bottom ahead of the forend cap. The standard three-line model and trademark information is on the upper tang, and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. It is fitted with Lyman beaded bade front sight (bead absent), blank filler in the rear sight dovetail, and a Lyman tang mounted peep sight. Import marked on underside of barrel. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. There is a silver plaque mounted on the left of the buttstock marked "PRES TO/W.E. LEARNED/By/FRIENDSHIP LODGE/#66 COOKSHIRE/SEPT-26-19". Cookshire is a town located in Quebec, Canada, and this plaque appears to be a presentation from a Masonic lodge. Very fine, retains 75% plus of the original high polish blue finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina, primarily on the high spots/edges of the receiver. The silver plaque shows an attractively aged patina. The wood is also very fine with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
