The smoothbore barrel has ordnance proofs. The lock has "TOWER" at the tail, the Georgian cipher at the center, a rounded iron pan, and several smaller marks, including "DE" and "WR" inside. The stock has a "1786" dated storekeeper's mark to the right of the wrist escutcheon and "VI" on the tail of the left flat.
Good with mottled gray patina on the barrel, dark brown patina on the lock, mild oxidation and pitting, aged patina on the brass, and general mild marks and scratches. The refinished stock is fair and has repairs in the forend, some slight gaps around the lock, a few faint hairline cracks, and general mild wear. Mechanically fine.
