Manufactured in 1874, the faint standard Colt two-line address is marked on top of the barrel flanked by Maltese crosses and British proofs are visible on the bottom as well as on the cylinder. The right side of the frame is marked "38CAL C" as well as a partial "C" and Rampant Colt marking. The serial number is marked on the left of the grip frame, bottom of the barrel, and rear face of the cylinder. Includes an oak case with Cogswell & Harrison retailer label inside the lid, five Eley .410 cartridges, and an oiler. Provenance: The Don and Carol Wilkerson Collection
Very fine, retains 85% plus of the retailer applied blue finish and 90% plus of the vibrant original case colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina. The grips are fine with some scattered light handling marks and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some minor handling/storage marks scattered throughout.
