Manufactured in 1874, the standard two-line Colt address on top of the barrel flanked by Maltese crosses. The caliber marking is on the left of the frame. The matching serial number is marked on the butt, bottom of the barrel, and faintly in pencil inside each grip. It is fitted with smooth walnut grips. Includes a plain modern box labeled to match the gun, an informational plaque, and a cloth holster. Provenance: The Don and Carol Wilkerson Collection
Very fine, retains 80% plus of the original blue finish with the balance thinned to a mostly plum-brown patina and some light surface pitting, and the traces of the original silver finish with the balance an attractively aged brass. The grips are excellent with a few scattered light handling marks and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent.
