The grouping includes a plethora of items related to the Centennial International Exhibition, the first World's Fair to be held in the United States, which was held in Philadelphia from May to November of 1876. Included in the grouping are five postcards featuring printed images of various buildings at the exhibition and one featuring a woman on horseback firing a revolver, A boxed set of hardwood medallions/plaques carved with buildings and important figures related to the exhibition, an additional wood plaque carved with the main building from the fair, two tickets to the fair, one having the image of the woman it belonged to, two commemorative coins, a centennial commemorative pin, two large bronze commemorative medallions, a smaller bronze commemorative medallion, a case silver commemorative coin/medallion, three centennial ribbons featuring George Washington, a Centennial Exhibition visitor's guide booklet, a copy of the book "Souvenir of the Centennial Exhibition: Connecticut's Representation at Philadelphia, 1876", and a framed print of three of the Colt revolvers that were on show at the exhibition along with some of the items in this lot.
