Manufactured in 1877. The top of the barrel has the two-line Colt Hartford address, the left side of the barrel has the desirable etched panel marked "COLT NEW 41", and the bottom is numbered "3801". The rear edge of the cylinder has the retailer inscription "F.T.Baker. 88. Fleet St. London". There are London proof marks on the underside of the barrel and each cylinder flute. The serial number is marked on the left side of the grip frame and inside each grip. The left side of the frame is marked "41CAL C" for centerfire and with "C" and a Rampant Colt. It is fitted with a pair of smooth grips. Includes a hardwood case with Cogswell & Harrison interior label, oiler, key, screwdriver, and cleaning rod.
Very fine, retains 85% of the original blue finish and 80% plus of the vibrant original case colors with the balance having thinned to a smooth brown or grey patina and a crisp etched panel. The grips are fine with numerous minor dings and scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some scattered minor handling/storage marks.
