These derringers were introduced in 1870, manufactured until 1912, and totaled around 48,000 produced, with this example having been produced early in the 20th century. The top of the barrel has a rounded blade front sight and "COLT" in large italic letters and the bottom of the barrel has small British proofs. The serial number is on the left of the grip frame and hand marked in ink inside each grip panel. The caliber marking is on the left of the frame. Includes a leather wrapped presentation case with gold embossed Colt London Agency interior label.
Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original blue and nickel finishes with some light muzzle wear and some scattered light handling marks. 95% of the muted original casecolors remain on the hammer. The grips are very fine with a minor chip in the left panel near the screw and otherwise a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some light handling/storage wear.
