This attractive and decorative musket was assembled in the Victorian era using some original 17th century components, including most of the lock. The smoothbore barrel has blade and notch sights. The barrel, lock, accent panels, and trigger guard have a variety of floral and classical patterns. The matchlock serpentine was added to the lock.
Fine as assembled and embellished in the Victorian era with mottled gray patina, mild pitting, generally distinct etching, and mild overall age and storage related wear. The stock is also fine and has some small chips and slivers absent, some cracks and splices, and general moderate wear. Lock modified and not fully tested.
