Description:

These c. mid 18th century pistols from Continental Europe have silver furniture, including elaborate pierced side plates with scrolling designs and masks and wrist escutcheons with coronets and bestial supporters. The pommels have quatrefoil floral designs and lion masks and "B" and "A" hallmarks. The barrels also have silver front sights on long sighting ribs and silver inlaid ovals engraved with a classical soldier design. The locks similarly have beautiful relief engraved designs of classical figures seated amongst martial trophies. The stocks have relief carved scroll patterns and horn forend caps.

Rating Definition:

Fine with silver-gray patina on the lock and barrel, some light pitting, deep natural aged patina on the silver furniture, and mild overall wear. The stock is also fine and has distinct carving, mild edge wear, a couple of faint cracks by the toe, and light scratches, and dings. Mechanically fine.

Fine with silver-gray patina and slight pitting on the lock and barrel, attractive natural aged patina on the silver, some faint repairs, and mild wear. The stock is very good as restored with discreet repaired cracks and slivers, distinct carving, and scattered light dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
