Manufactured c. 1790s-early 1800s. The smoothbore barrel has a bayonet lug/front sight, Ordnance proofs and "SG" on the left at the breech, and an "L-H 383" Irish registration mark for County Louth in north eastern Leinster, Ireland. The lock has the Georgian cipher at the center, "TOWER" at the rear, double line borders, the early "swan neck" cock, and "IN" and a "crown/5" on the inside. The furniture is brass. "N/A+4L" is marked on the buttplate tang. A modern buff leather sling is equipped.

Good with mottled gray and brown patina and moderate pitting on the lock and barrel, file marks on the replacement cock, attractive aged patina on the brass, and general moderate overall wear. The refinished stock is also good with a repair on the left side of the forend, general mild scratches and dings, and what appears to be burn damage on the right side of the butt. Mechanically fine.
