These c. 1820 flintlock pistols have smoothbore, Damascus barrels with fixed silver blade front sights, "LONDON" inscribed on the top flats, Birmingham proofs on the bottom flats, gold bands at the breech ends, and platinum vent liners. The standing breeches include fixed notch rear sights and have burst and floral engraving. The locks have deep pans with a partially guttered "semi-rainproof" design, frizzen spring rollers, burst and floral engraving, "SIMMONS" inscribed at center towards the bottom, half-cock safeties, and stepped tails. The wedge and wrist escutcheons are silver ovals. The remaining furniture is blued steel with floral and martial pattern engraving, including a stylized pineapple type design on the trigger guard finials. The stocks have checkered bag shaped wrists. They come in a hardwood case with a cleaning rod, "30" marked ball mold, and powder flask.
Fine with 50% original brown finish mixed with brown patina on the barrel along with some light twist patterns visible, bright gold band and platinum liner, traces of original case color patterns, otherwise mottled gray patina on the lock and standing breech, strong original blue on the ramrod pipe, bright polished trigger guard, distinct engraving, some mild oxidation, and general mild overall wear. The stock is also fine and has some crisp checkering, general light scratches and dings, some chipping and a thin crack at the forend tip, and fairly minor overall wear. Mechanically fine. The case and accessories are good with mild overall age and storage related wear.
