Manufactured circa 1935-1936 on contract for the government of Persia in both "P.08" and "Artillery" configurations, in limited quantity of 1,000 of each configuration. Only a limited number of these Persian Lugers have been seen on the American market. Fixed sights, with the Persian Lion on the chamber, "crown/crown/U" and "crown" proofs, British commercial proofing on the underside of the barrel, right side of the receiver and frame, and on top of the toggle links, and straw finished small parts. The barrel is numbered "2159" in Farsi and the extension "6155", with the "55" repeated on many components in the "military" pattern, unnumbered grips and a "3850" marked magazine. Fitted with a pair of checkered grips and a nickel finished alloy base magazine. Included with the pistol is a custom hardwood case with fine inlaid mosaic style decoration, a brass barrel rod, and 50-rounds of Persian headstamped ammo in a box with reproduction Persian label.

Fine, with 75% of the original blue finish, showing a mixed brown and gray patina on the barrel and gripstraps, bright edge wear, minor dings and some light spotting. On some of the mixed numbered components (such as the receiver, frame, sear and takedown lever) the last digit of the serial number appears to be stamped over a Farsi "9". The grips are good, with some chips and an internal crack in the left panel, and a crack near the grip screw in the right panel. The case is very good, with some light stains and handling marks. The toggle hinge is stiff, otherwise mechanically excellent.
