Blade front and 1000-meter tangent rear sights, with the three line "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF a/N" marking on the top of the chamber area, "crown/crown/U" and "antler" proofs on the sides, and "VON LENGERKE/& DETMOLD/NEW-YORK" marked on the left side of the frame. The "crown/crown/U" is repeated on the bolt. Von Lengerke & Detmold were New York importers and dealers active in the early 20th century and were a prominent early pathway of the then-cutting edge Mauser Broomhandle onto the American sporting market. Matching external numbers on the receiver, bolt, hammer, hammer housing, takedown catch, frame, magazine follower, floorplate, and the interior of the 23-groove grips.
Fine, with 40% plus original blue finish, showing areas of mixed gray and brown patina, scattered spotting, edge wear and mild handling marks. 50% of the original niter blue is present on the small parts, concentrated on the extractor, and the very good grips show some stains, scratches and dents. Mechanically excellent.
