Description:

Manufactured c. early-1944, this is a unique single digit serial number Browning patent Inglis No. 2 Mk. I*, which was devised as a wartime expedient version of the original Chinese contract Inglis High Power pistol, lacking the tangent sight and shoulder stock slot. This pistol may have been a "lunch-box gun" that was stamped "4" as the marking is not consistent with factory serial numbers. The left side of the slide has the standard model, Browning, and Inglis markings and there are Canadian military proofs on various parts on the right. It is fitted with blade and notch sights, and checkered plastic grips. Includes a "1945" dated canvas holster and a lanyard.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 90% plus of the arsenal applied parkerized finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on edges in the form of holster wear, and some scattered light dings/handling marks. The grips are fine with some scattered minor handling marks and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.
