Description:

Established in 1932, the RLB was responsible for German air defense. While the membership was technically massive, most of its members were part-time volunteers, with only a small cadre of full-time officers qualifying to wear the officers dagger, and authorization for the enlisted dagger being a reward for special action and service. 14 1/4 inches overall, with a 9 5/8 inch spearpoint blade, blackened silver furniture, 3 7/8 inch wide crossguard, leather wrapped grip with a swastika-on-sunburst badge on one side, and a leather covered sheath with silver and green belt hanger. Inscribed "Hauptlufschutz Fuhrer Schoeller Koblenz" on scabbard. Provenance: The Paul Crockett Jr. Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall, with some minor spotting and rubbing on the very fine blade, bright edge wear on the silver components, and a few small scuffs on the leather.
