Manufactured in Belgium on contract for Egypt, this rifle bears the FN address, serial numbers in both Arabic and Farsi numerals, and the crest of King Farouk on the receiver ring. A scope base is installed on the left side of the receiver, with the lower section marked "O.I.P.-1955/BELGIQUE". and bearing an Egyptian crest over "878" in Farsi, the ring assembly marked with Echo/B.C. Herkner markings, and the scope marked "Meopta" and numbered in Farsi to match the rifle. The rifle also has the standard battle sights, a muzzle brake, and bayonet lug. It is mounted with a walnut pistol grip stock fitted with an additional cheek piece for proper eye alignment, stock disk, and a brass buttplate. Numbers match on the frame, top cover, bolt carrier, bolt and stock. It is estimated that only about 1,000 of these rifles were manufactured, and estimates regarding the number to make it to the United States are in the low double digits.
