Description:

This is an excellent example of a World War II U.S. Springfield M1 Garand rifle. The receiver of this rifle was manufactured in September of 1944, with a "1-S-A-9-44" marked barrel, "-19SA" bolt, "-14-SA" trigger housing, and "9 SA" operating rod. Blade front and peep rear sights, bar lock windage drum and a "BATTLE RANGE" marked elevation drum. Mounted on a smooth walnut pistol grip stock with a boxed "S.A./GAW" cartouche, crossed cannons ordnance cartouche and circled "P" proof. Includes an oiler in the butt compartment.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retains 95% original parkerized finish with a few areas of light freckling and slight thinning on the exposed portion of the barrel. Stock is also excellent with exceptionally defined edges, a few light handling marks, and crisp stampings. Mechanically excellent.
