Manufactured in 1917. The left side of the matching numbered slide has the standard two-line, two-block patent dates and address followed by the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, caliber marking on the right, and Government Model marking over the serial number on the right of the frame. The trigger guard is faintly marked "VP" and "2" on the left and "K" on the right. Some of the markings appear restamped or slightly light. The barrel has a polished chamber hood, the balance blued with the matching serial number and "P" stamped on the bottom. Fitted with later production wide pattern fixed blade and notch sights, checkered diamond pattern grips, and a two-tone magazine with lanyard loop base.
Very fine, retains 90% of the factory quality refinished blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on the mainspring housing and the leading edges of the slide, and a few scattered very small patches of light pitting visible underneath the finish. The grips are also very fine with a few scattered minor blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
