The accompanying factory letter confirms the 6 inch barrel in .38 caliber, bead front sight, and blue finish with type of stocks not listed. The letter also states the revolver was shipped on March 14, 1931 on order number 19284/25 and delivered to Shapleigh Hardware Co., St. Louis, Missouri. This was a two gun shipment. Elevation adjustable beaded blade front and windage adjustable rear notch sights, standard Colt markings, and smooth grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions. The period French fitted oak case contains a cartridge block holding 18 rounds, brass oiler, cleaning rod, and screwdriver.
Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue finish showing a few patches of minor pitting and light cylinder drag line. The slightly shrunken grips are very good showing typical age cracking and some added material along the rear edge near the bottoms. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with a number of minor-moderate handling-storage marks and some minor high spot wear on the lining.
