Blued steel barrels with a single steel bead sight on the matted vent rib with light engraving towards the breech, "Abbiatico & Salvinelli" (founding members of FAMARS) marked on the left of the upper barrel, 2006 dated Italian proofs, interchangeable chokes (improved cylinder/modified installed), and chambers marked 70mm (2 3/4 inches) with automatic ejectors. The coin finished bolstered round body action displays beautifully executed English style rose & scroll engraving surrounding "ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI" on either bolster and "EXCALIBUR/SPORTING" on the underside all in fine gold inlay. The work is signed "inc. A. Bulino" to the right side of the triggerplate. The gun features a single trigger and a tang mounted manual safety with gold inlaid "SAFE". Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with fittings engraved with rose & scroll to match the action and pistol grip stock with a Pachmayr rubber recoil pad. Includes a factory takedown case, extra mainsprings and firing pins, and three extra chokes (cylinder, light full, and extra full). Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 18.4mm (.724 inches) and measured at .726 inches; minimum wall thickness .033/.035 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 1 13/16 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 13 oz.
Excellent, retaining 99% original blue, coin, and gold finishes with minimal handling evidence. The wood is very fine with some scattered minor scratches and dings and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
