Manufactured in 1937. Ramped hooded beaded blade front sight, rear sight dovetail filled, standard barrel markings and Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, factory drilled and tapped clover leaf tang receiver, matching numbered bolt, and early safety. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with sling swivels, and checkered steel buttplate. Includes an Anton Cermak Kerner letter stating this rifle previously belonged to his father, former Illinois governor, Otto Kerner who acquired it in 1938 or 1939.
Excellent, retaining 95% original blue finish on the receiver and barrel with limited handling marks and crisp stock checkering. The trigger guard assembly was refinished during the period. Mechanically excellent.
