Introduced in the 1930s, the Klein Kaliber Wehrsportgewehr was designed to mimic the weight, feel and features of the military standard 98k bolt action rifle and was popular with paramilitary organizations within Germany, including the SA and the Hitler Youth. Blade front and tangent rear sights with "eagle/N" proofs on the barrel and receiver, Gustloff trademark and address on the receiver ring and "KK Wehrsportgewehr" on the right. Smooth pistol grip stock with two barrel bands, and a bayonet lug for use with a K98k bayonet. The left of the buttstock is branded with the runic-style logo with "SA d.NSDAP" (Storm Detachment of the National Socialist German Workers Party) in a circle around it. Includes a period leather sling, muzzle cap, "42 cof" marked K98k bayonet and metal scabbard. Provenance: The Paul Crockett Jr. Collection
Excellent, retains 95% original blue finish with some light wear around the muzzle. Stock is very fine with scattered scratches and dents, a re-glued crack on the right rear of the forearm, and a defined branding on the left of the buttstock. Mechanically excellent. Included bayonet and scabbard are fine.
