Description:

Designed for wear by the (relatively limited) number of German military officers and soldiers on permanent assignment to the German Red Cross (versus the Red Cross' civilian volunteer staff), both feature nickel finished hilt furniture, the German Red Cross logo on a languet on the short crossguard, and a flared pommel. 1) Unmarked officer dagger, 14 3/8 inches overall with a 9 3/4 inch spearpoint blade, orange celluloid grip, and nickel finished sheath. 2) Unmarked enlisted knife, 13 5/8 inches overall with a 10 1/2 inch blade, serrated on the spine with a blunted tip, half checkered/half smooth grip panels, and a black enamel finished scabbard with a leather frog. Provenance: The Paul Crockett Jr. Collection

Rating Definition:

1) Fine. the blade shows some spotting and edge nicks, the hilt fittings are a bit loose, the grip shows minor chips, and the nickel components show some scuffs and wear. 2) Very fine, with minor spotting and rubbing on the otherwise excellent blade, light cracking and scuffing of the leather, and mild handling marks overall.
