Scarce Late World War II Walther "ac45" Zero Series P.38 Semi-Automatic Pistol with 22 Conversion Parts

This is an excellent example of a very late production WWII Zero-Series P.38. Manufactured concurrently with the military contract P.38, the Zero Series was made on the same assembly lines (and often used military inspected components), intended for commercial sale both in Germany and abroad. Blade front and notch rear sights, with a full blue finish and ribbed grips. Matching numbers are present in the "commercial" pattern, with the slide number on top (obscured by the barrel when the breech is closed) and the frame number on the right side, with the slide marked "P.38" and "ac45" on the left side and one each of the "eagle/359" and "eagle/swastika" inspection marks on the right. One magazine is included, marked "P.38v/U" on the left side, with no military proofs. Included with the lot is a set of conversion kit parts housed in a Walther "wood grain" box (originally marked for a 7.65mm PPK, hand-remarked for a 9mm P.38), with a single shot barrel sleeve, clearing rod, loading aid and a set of 9mm sized cartridge adapters.

ConditionExcellent, with 98% of the original blue finish, showing bright edge wear, areas of gray patina on the front strap, and mild handling marks overall. The grips are excellent, with a few minor scuffs. The box shows some tears and stains, not all of the conversion parts are compatible, and function of the sleeve with this pistol is not guaranteed. Mechanically excellent.
