The top of the barrel is stamped "SA" above the Ordnance shell and flame insignia and the date "2-24". The muzzle is not stamped with a star gauge mark as typically seen on National Match rifles made in this same time frame. The bolt is electro-stenciled with the last four digits of the serial number "4064" to match. It is fitted with the standard blade front sight and tangent rear sight with a polished face and no provision for a volley notch. Mounted in a straight grip walnut "S" type stock with two reinforcing bolts, finger grooves on the sides and a late pattern handguard. The left of the stock has a boxed "D.A.L." inspection cartouche with a circled "P" proof on the underside behind the trigger guard. It is fitted with a smooth steel buttplate. Includes a "1919" dated Springfield Armory M1905 bayonet, tan canvas scabbard, olive drab green canvas sling, and oiler in butt compartment.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 85% plus original parkerized finish with some loss on the extractor, a few areas turned to a smooth brown patina, and sharp markings and edges in the metal overall. Stock is also very fine with crisp grasping grooves, defined edges, some light handling marks, and crisp stampings. Mechanically excellent. Included bayonet and scabbard are both fine, with one chip at the top of the right grip panel on the bayonet.
