Also known as the Model of 1891, with production from 1891 to 1911. This is a scarce high condition and highly desirable target variation. White bead accented Lyman front sight, with an adjustable notch rear sight integrating a white sighting plane. The two line, two block address and patent marks are present on the barrel rib, bisected with "MODEL of 91", caliber marking on the left side of the barrel, and matching numbers on the barrel, cylinder and butt. Casehardened wide target hammer and trigger guard, with correct Smith & Wesson First Model checkered extended grips. The included S&W factory letter confirms the revolvers configuration, other than the grips, and that it was shipped from the factory on July 28, 1911 and delivered to Folsom Arms Co,.
Excellent, with 98% of the original blue finish, showing bright edges, and scattered collector type handling marks. Bright and vivid case colors are present on the hammer, with the trigger guard turning silver. Grips are excellent, with a few light pressure dents and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
