These derringers were introduced in 1870, manufactured until 1912, and totaled around 48,000 produced. The top of the barrel has a rounded blade front sight and "COLT" in large italic letters and the bottom of the barrel has small British proofs. The upper left of the barrel is retailer inscribed with "WILLIAMS & POWELL, LIVERPOOL". It is fitted with a pair of smooth hardwood grips, the right faintly hand numbered to the gun on the inside. Includes a leather wrapped case and a cleaning rod.

Fine, retains 30% plus of the original blue finish and 20% of the attractively aged silver plating with the balance having thinned to either a smooth grey or attractively aged brass and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The grips are very good with a few scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with mild wear.
