Known as the Model No. 3 and Type II, this Remington over/under derringer was introduced in 1888 and production lasted until 1911. The top of the barrel rib has the standard Model No. 3 address marking: "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y." The derringer has fixed sights, a spur trigger, a manual extractor, checkered bird head grips and blue finish. The Remington over/under derringer remained on the market for 69 years, a testament to the pistol's popularity and practicality. Provenance: The Joe Marlin Hilliard Collection

Very fine. The derringer retains 80% bright original blue finish with the balance thinned to a smooth brown patina. The grips are also excellent with overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. An exceptional iconic example of one of the best known American derringers!
