Description:

This great courtroom judicial bronze statue is signed "Mayer" (Eduard Mayer French, 1812-1881) on the back of the bronze. The statue shows the blindfolded Themis with one arm up holding the scales of Justice and the other arm is downward holding the sword which is encircled by a serpent. Themis is resting one foot on the ground and the other on top of the serpent's head which she has pinned between herself and a book. Highly decorative classical cloak fits her entire body. She rests on circular bronze plinth. The statue measures 13x23x56 inches and weighs 104 lbs.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with some storage and handling marks and an attractive patina. A great statue for a lawyer's office or a courtroom.
