This is an excellent example of a very desirable Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol. The top of the chamber area is stamped "1941" for the year of manufacture with the large Mauser/Banner logo on the front toggle. The eagle "L" Police stamp is located on the right side of the receiver, with the commercial "eagle/N" commercial proofmarks stamped on the left side of the receiver and the breechblock. The full serial number is stamped on the front of the frame and the left side of the barrel extension, with the last two digits of the serial number on the various small parts. The pistol has a salt blue finish and checkered walnut grips, which are numbered 39 on the back side but still have the "Eagle 655" proofmarks. This pistol has one all blue "fxo" magazine that has a blued body and pinned aluminum base that has the pistol serial number (1759y) and the number "1". Provenance: The Joe Marlin Hilliard Collection

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 97% plus of the original blue finish and only very minor edge and high spot wear overall. The grips are also excellent with only a couple of minor handling marks and nice sharp checkering. All matching numbers except the firing pin which is unnumbered and the grips. Mechanically excellent. A very desirable World War II Mauser banner German police Luger.
