This is an example of a desirable original Colt Firearms Division commercially manufactured fully automatic M16 rifle. These original Colt fully automatic M16 series rifles are very desirable as they were produced exactly as their military counterpart using the same military grade, factory original parts. To keep them separate and distinct from the military weapons, they were given their own special commercial serial number designation in the 9 million serial number range. Adjustable post front and two-leaf peep rear sights, with an A1 pattern flash hider on the "C MP B" marked barrel, a bayonet lug on the front sight base, ribbed round handguard, checkered pistol grip and a two-position telescoping buttstock. The upper receiver has an A1 profile low profile casing deflector and an oval forward assist, and the lower has a fenced magazine release and "SAFE"/"SEMI"/"AUTO" pattern right handed selector switch. The bolt carrier is marked "C" with a matte finish and proper forward assist serrations, and the bolt head is chrome plated with "M/P" markings. Magazine absent.

Excellent, with 98% of the original matte black phosphate finish, showing mild handling marks and edge wear. The furniture is in equal condition. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
