Fratelli Rizzini are builders of only the finest guns, with only some 25 being built by the firm every year creating a wait list of around 5 years, unsurprisingly given that each gun takes over 1,000 hours to complete! The craftsmanship displayed by the artisans who build these guns is outstanding and is amongst the best in the world. With a combination of high-tech manufacturing methods, old world hand fitting, and the use of only the top engravers in the world, Fratelli Rizzini is truly a standout builder of fine arms. Blued steel chopperlump barrels forged in-house and featuring a single bead sight on the smooth concave tapered solid rib which is marked with hand cut "Flli RIZZINI Magno V.T." as well as a "1" and small flourish of scroll engraving, 2002 dated Italian proofs, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The bright coin finished sidelock action displays absolutely fantastic and exceedingly intricate scroll engraving over a blackened background with intertwining scroll covering nearly the entirety of the action and locks and a grotesque mask on the underside set in amongst the scrollwork. The engraving extends to the trigger guard, the toplever, and both tangs, the bottom which has a hand cut serial number. The work is signed "V.PELI C.Art" on the triggerplate to the right of the trigger guard for the exceptional Italian Master Engraver Valerio Peli of the famous Creative Art engraving studio, easily one of the top firms in the world. The gun features a single non-selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety switch with a gold inlaid script "S". Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered beavertail forend with matching engraved bright finished fittings, including the Anson button release, and pistol grip stock with a red rubber recoil pad. Included is a second set of 12 gauge barrels built for this gun numbered "2252" with the same markings and a "2" at the base of the rib. Also included is a wood and leather takedown case with canvas and leather cover that houses the entire set, a pair of nickel snap caps, nickel oiler, and cleaning tools. Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with limited handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The extra barrel is also excellent.
