The multi-stage barrel flares out to around 1 3/8 inches at the muzzle and is about 18 bore for most of the length and has Birmingham proofs flanking a "2/cat" maker's mark on the upper left and "LONDON" marked on top of the breech section. The lock has a frizzen spring roller, a sliding safety on the stepped tail, faint maker's mark ending in "& Co" and light floral engraving. The furniture is brass and has some floral engraving, and the trigger guard has an acorn finial. The folding bayonet has a 10 3/4 inch triangular blade.

Very good with mostly bright surfaces, buffed/pitted lock, some light patina, and generally mild overall wear. The ramrod is broken. The stock is also very good and has mild scratches and dents, a repair on the left side of the wrist, and some attractive grain. The bayonet latch needs some work. The lock is mechanically fine.
