Likely manufactured in the 1850s to 1870s in Sheffield, England, it is the writer's belief that this firm was in operation for a short time before partnering to become Sibley, Lindsey & Curr Co. It measures 12 3/4 inches overall with an 8 inch spearpoint blade, which is etched on the left with flourishes of floral scroll and "NEVER DRAW ME WITHOUT REASON/NOR SHEATH ME WITHOUT HONOUR". The left ricasso is marked CURR & Co./SHEFFIELD". It has an elliptical German silver guard and an ornately case flatware-style German silver grip. Includes a red leather sheath with German silver fittings.
