Description:

Manufactured in 1890 this commercial Colt Model 1889 Navy revolver is in the original Model 1889 configuration with counter clockwise rotating cylinder and the scarce and desirable three inch barrel. The right side of the barrel has the standard two-line Colt address, while the left is marked "COLT. D.A. 38". The assembly number "382" is marked on the bottom of the barrel, rear face of the cylinder, frame, crane, and cylinder latch, while the serial number is on the butt. It has a blade front sight and groove rear sight, and is fitted with a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in ovals at the tops.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 90% plus of the untouched original nickel finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey or brown patina, primarily at the muzzle and on the edges of the frame near the front face of the cylinder. The left grip panel has a minor chip absent from the lower back edge but they are otherwise very fine with light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically fine.
