Originally manufactured by Palmetto Armory as a BH.15A1 semi-automatic rifle using a Schuetzen Gun Works receiver, this rifle was upgraded to a full automatic XM-16 rifle by Frankford Arsenal of Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Later still, it was converted from a conventional "M16" style closed bolt selective fire rifle to an open bolt 22 LR submachine gun with the addition of an AM15 upper receiver and replacement of some internal parts, effectively turning it into a modernized copy of the American 180 SMG. Folding post front and adjustable peep rear sights, with a triple forearm rail arrangement around the fluted and threaded barrel, with a Magpul RVG front grip. The safety markings retain the original "S" and "F" positions, with "ROCK N'/ROLL" marked on the full auto position; with the AM15 upgrade, "S" is safe, "F" is full automatic, and "ROCK N'/ROLL" is cosmetic. A Lone Star Ordnance pistol grip is installed on the frame, with a six-position telescoping plastic buttplate. Included with the lot are 22 AR-15/M16 pattern magazines, an A4 profile AR-15 upper with bolt and "5.56" marked barrel, and an ammo can. No AM15/American 180 magazines are included.

Excellent, with 90% plus original black phosphate/anodized finish, showing light scuffs and scratches overall. The furniture is in equal condition. Internal parts to restore AR-15 style operation are not included. The magazine catch and rear takedown pin are absent, otherwise mechanically fine. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
