Blued steel barrels with a ramped beaded blade front sight, four leaf (one standing, three folding) rear sight on the raised rear quarter rib, standard London nitro proofs for a 400 grain bullet over 55 grains of cordite, and chambers with ejectors. The barrels are marked "W. J. Jeffery & Co." and "13. KING STREET. St. JAMES'S. LONDON." on the left and right respectively. The blued boxlock action displays extensive scroll engraving surrounding "W. J. Jeffery & Co." banners on either side with scroll continuing onto the triggerguard and both tangs. The rifle features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted manual safety with gold inlaid "SAFE". Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, including the rotary lever latch, and pistol grip stock with teardrop flats, engraved blue grip cap, blank inscription oval, and leather wrapped recoil pad. Includes a leather bound takedown case. Length of pull 14 1/4 inches (cast-off). Weight 10 lbs. 2 oz.
Very fine as professional refurbished, retaining 97% plus blue finish with light handling evidence and some softening of the markings and engraving. The wood is also very fine with a few minor chips on both sides of the lower stock head, some wear to the leather pad, and sharp recut checkering. The case is very good with some mild wear. Mechanically excellent.
