Fine Antique Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle in Desirable .44-40 WCF

Manufactured in 1897. Dovetail blade front sight and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight on a barrel marked with the two-line address and "44 W.C.F." on the top flat. The upper tang is marked with the three-line model and patent date information. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

ConditionFine as it shows all the typical signs of the frontier gun that was worked hard and well-cared for, retains 60% plus of the original blue finish and 30% of the original case colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina and some scattered light speckling of course surface oxidation. 40% of the original nitre blue remains on the loading gate. The wood is also fine with some scattered minor dings, chips, and scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent.
