Manufactured in 1906. This is a highly sought after special order Marlin Model '94 rifle with extra length 32 inch part octagon barrel. Standard barrel length for the Model 1894 was 24 inches. As noted by Marlin expert and author William Brophy, rifles were furnished with all lengths up to 32 inches at an extra cost of $1.00 per inch when the Model 1894 was introduced ("Marlin Firearms," page 210). This was an added expense generally not paid by customers, making these extra length barrel Marlins a rarity in today's collector market. The half magazine and deluxe walnut are also special order features found on this rifle. The rifle is fitted with a German silver blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight. The top barrel flat has the standard two-line Marlin address/patent dates marking stamped ahead of the rear sight and "25-20 M" stamped at the breech. The upper tang is stamped "Marlin/MODEL '94." The checkered forearm and pistol grip stock are select walnut, and the buttstock is fitted with a steel buttplate. Provenance: The Tom Selleck Collection

Fine. The barrel and magazine tube retain 50% plus original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance. 25% original blue remains on the bolt. The frame retains 60% original casehardened finish with broad areas of vivid colors. 30% original case colors remain on the hammer and lever. The wood is also fine with minor dings and scratches and worn forearm checkering. Mechanically excellent. A very scarce extra long barreled Marlin deluxe Model 94 takedown rifle that is a must have for the serious lever action or Marlin collector.
