Rock Island Auction Company’s June 10-12 Sporting & Collector Firearms Auction is promising to be an exhilarating event filled with thousands of beautiful weapons, collectibles, and militaria from across the world. This event was originally planned for two days, but because of the influx of amazing items, this auction has been extended to three full days along with the Preview Hall opening for exhibition on June 9. With extraordinarily rare Winchester rifles, historic relics from the past, powerful shotguns, gorgeous works of art, cannons from distant lands, and plenty of ammunition, this event is surely not something to miss out on.

Leading the auction is an engraved New Haven Arms Company Henry lever action rifle featuring highly attractive and custom scroll and border engravings executed by an unknown but highly skilled engraver. In the accompanying letter, George Madis references the features as L.D. Nimschke in style and are equally as alluring. Estimated at $20,000-$30,000, this gorgeous Henry rifle is rare, historic, and masterfully engraved. A functioning piece of art, this rifle is the perfect addition for any collection.

If this lot wasn’t energizing enough, perhaps some of the other highlights found in the June 10-12 Sporting & Collector Auction will do the job. A Colt “Pinched Frame” style Single Action Army revolver, an extremely scarce U.S. Springfield State of Kansas marked Model 1877 transitional trapdoor rifle, and a rare Holland & Holland 12 bore nitro Magnum “Royal” double barrel paradox shot & ball gun with a unique hand-detachable sidelock ejector can also be found in the auction—all estimated at $12,000-$18,000. Along with these beautiful lots, historic items from the Revolutionary and Civil War Eras, such as the Revolutionary War Era Charleville Model 1763/66 Flintlock Musket and the “USN” marked Colt Model 1849 pocket percussion revolver inscribed to a Kentucky volunteer, can be found as well. Items from Brazil, Japan, and China will also be present during the June 10-12 Sporting & Collector Auction.

With such anticipation already building, Rock Island Auction Company is elated to show off all the impressive items that have traveled thousands of miles and hundreds of years to get here. Get ready for another electrifying event from the world’s largest firearms auction house. Are you ready?

As always, if there are any questions regarding any of the information covered here, further details on consignment, registration, and future auctions, please contact the helpful people at Rock Island Auction.
