Introduced in 1976. The receiver is marked "Ruger/ MINI-14,/ CAL 223". It has the military style rear sight and ramp front sight with a black plastic handguard and hardwood stock and one five round magazine. Complete with original box numbered to gun and papers.

This model was introduced in 1987. It features an adjustable fold-down rear sight, fixed blade front sight and is factory machined for Ruger scope rings. Plain military-style stock with a black plastic buttplate and sling swivels. Rings are missing.
