Description:

This revolver appears to be a period reproduction of the English Hartford Dragoon that has been subsequently renumbered and modified. The barrel lug, sides of the loading lever, frame, trigger guard bow and grip frame are scroll engraved. The top of the barrel is marked " ---ADRESS COL COLT LONDON---", the left side of the frame is marked "PATENT ARMS" in a banner. The "crown / V" and "crown / GP" proof mark is on the left side of the barrel lug ahead of the wedge and alternating on the cylinder breech shoulders. The cylinder is roll engraved with the Ranger Indian scene. The trigger guard and back strap are brass and the grips are one piece smooth walnut.

Rating Definition:

Assembled, restamped, refurbished. All metal surfaces show signs of cleaning and have a gray patina with some minor pitting on the barrel. The brass has an aged patina with a hand rubbed polished front strap. The barrel address and serial number and proofs on the cylinder have all been restamped. The cylinder scene is visible, the "MODEL U.S.M.R." cartouche is worn smooth and only partially visible. The engraving remains crisp and other markings are clear. The brass on the right side of the trigger guard and back strap where they attach to the frame is thin and cracked on the back strap. The revolver remains solid in the two areas. The grips are a bit ill-fitting and remain very good with light handling marks.
