The 1963 dated factory letter states this rifle was "sold and shipped to the E.C. Meacham Arms Company of St. Louis, MO on March 28th, 1885." Only a total of 3,775 rifles were manufactured between 1883 and 1885, 2,556 with octagon barrels.
