Manufactured c. 1914 and features the famous Deeley and Taylor patent hand-detachable locks (British Patent No. 17731 of July 28, 1897). With blued rifle choked barrels respectively signed “WESTLEY RICHARDS LONDON” and “SUPER MAGNUM EXPLORA”, each tube engraved with a band of stylized foliage at the breech end. The sunken concave rib with bead front sight and matted quarter rib with rear express sight of five folding leaf notch sights each with platinum inlaid center line and graduated to 300 yards. Casehardened treble grip action signed “WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO.” on each side, with blued toplever, automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”, blued removable floorplate, casehardened side-plates, blued trigger plate and blued trigger guard. The whole finely engraved with classic English scrollwork. The underside of the barrels and water table struck with Birmingham nitro proof and nitro reproof marks. Figured 14 1/8" walnut pistol grip stock including 3/4" rubber recoil pad, with panels of multipoint checkering to the grip and forearm, the latter with scroll engraved Deeley and Edge fastener, dark horn pistol grip cap, the underside of the butt with blank silver oval initial escutcheon and blued sling mount, the corresponding sling mount fitted beneath the barrels. Barrel measurements (R/L): reproved at 18.9mm/18.8mm, measuring 18.9mm/18.8mm, 70 mm (2 3/4") chambers, minimum wall thickness 0.035/0.033. Weight 8 lbs. 4 oz.
