This is a very fine example of a factory engraved Remington-Smoot revolver that was manufactured between 1878 and 1888. The side barrel flats are engraved with a scallop border with floral scroll engraving with a punch dot background at the muzzle and breech. The sides of the barrel lug, cylinder flats and frame are engraved with the same pattern. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line address and Smoot patent date with a simple line border ending in a wedge of floral scroll on the top strap. All nickel finish and fitted with smooth pearl grips. The serial number is marked under the left grip panel. Includes a correct two-piece unnumbered green factory box with directions for use label on the inside of the lid.

Very fine. The revolver retains 95% plus of the unpolished, frosted, original nickel finish with some minor marks and imperfections. The grips are very fine with light handling marks with a chip on the lower left. The markings and engraving remain clear and crisp. The action is excellent. The box is very good with some mild wear and handling marks, some scattered flaking of the outer green surface, and a few tears.
