Description:

The included factory letter confirms that this exceptional revolver was shipped with 25 guns of the same type on January 22, 1881, to B. Kittredge & Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a 4 1/2 inch barrel chambered for .38 Colt with a nickel plated finish and rubber grips. This revolver is rare in that it is not equipped with an ejector as was standard for this barrel length. The barrel is also marked with the etched caliber markings on the left (slightly off center) and stamped two-line address on the top. The caliber is also marked on the left rear of the cylinder. All visible serial numbers match, and the assembly number "292" is marked on the loading gate. It has the standard round blade front and frame groove rear sights, niter blued small parts, and checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt near the top. Also included is a survey form that also lists the revolver's attributes and is marked "Return to: Bruce E. Skinner". Provenance: The Bruce E. Skinner Collection; Property of a Gentleman

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 98% of the original nickel plating and 75% of the original niter blue finish remain with some handling/storage marks, light scratches, and a few flakes. The grips are also excellent with sharp checkering and only minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
